Turkey’s most well-known and deep-scaled dance group Fire of Anatolia will meet the inhabitants of Marmaris on the first day of Marmaris Maritime and Spring Festival. Marmaris Council is proceeding to bring Turkey’s most famous artists and the most successful groups of the show business. Fire of Anatolia will be performing the opening ceremony of the sixth Marmaris Maritime and Spring Festival. The world famous group will perform their dances gratuitous for the inhabitants of Marmaris on the giant stage set up at Ataturk Square.

 Folk Dance Shows
The festival committee which hosted folk dance show groups from 10 different countries last year has already initiated its efforts to increase the number of the participants. The countries which confirmed their attendances for this year’s festival are as follows; Republic of China, Brasil, Germany, Bulgaria, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Czech Republic. The first national attendance confirmation came from Bornova Community Center folk dance group. The group which has been awarded in several competitions both nationally and internationally will perform its dances in Marmaris this time.

Competitions
Inhabitants of Marmaris will experience various competitions which they will amuse themselves while they compete with each other. The Photography Competition and the Cutest Dog Contest are the prerequisites for this year’s festival just like the past years. The competitors have struggled to build the best sand dune castle last year and this year they will compete to build the most beautiful sand dune boat. The Infantry Boat Building Competition will be repeated this year as it has attracted a lot of attention during last year’s festival. Fishing Competition and the Oiled Mast Competition are amongst the other competitions planned for this year’s festival.  

Charisma Show; Acrobatic Basketball Show
The team which has been to Marmaris for the first time in 2008 within the university sports games will be meeting the inhabitants of Marmaris yet again. Charisma Show consists of 10 players who have reached their professional levels in academical sense and is being accepted one of the 2 best teams of the world in acrobatic basketball slam dunk shows. The team will display two shows during their 2 days performances.

Marmaris Maritime and Spring Festival will be organized sixth time between 19-23 May 2010 this year. One of the activities within the festival organisation is the Photography Competition. The theme of this year’s photography competition is ‘‘Marmaris in Four Seasons’’. The terms and conditions of the competition can be obtained from www.marmaris.bel.tr and the photographs can be delivered to Media Department at Marmaris Council Building either directly by the participants or by the courier companies latest by 7 May 2010. The first winner will be awarded by a Canon camera, the second winner will be given out a laptop and the third winner will get an Lcd television. The photographs awarded and deemed worthy of display will be exhibited during the festival.

Marmaris Maritime and Spring Festival will be organized sixth time between 19-23 May 2010 this year. The festival arrangements are in progress in full swing.
